Podiatry and Chiropody
Podiatry aims to improve, correct or accommodate functional problems of the foot that can contribute to a wide variety of musculoskeletal disorders in the lower limb. Skin and nail problems are also treated. Milligan & Hill offers podiatry and chiropody services once a week on Tuesday at the central clinic at 16 St Helen’s Place, London.

Podiatrist Hannah Macleod graduated from the University of South Australia in 2000 with a Bachelor of Podiatry and is currently completing a Masters in Podiatry. She is a member of the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists and is HPC registered.

Podiatrists can assist with many conditions, such as:

  • Flat feet
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Heel spurs and heel pain
  • Leg length difference
  • Knee pain
  • Foot and medial arch pain
  • Bunions
  • Achilles tend

Chiropody treatment offeredat Milligan & Hill includes:

  • Nail pathology
  • Ingrown toenails
  • Veruccas
  • Corns
  • Callouses
  • Diabetic foot conditions
  • Infections

Podiatry
The podiatrist will assess your feet and analyse your gait and footwear.

Treatment will vary but often includes exercises and stretching, footwear advice, discussion about sports and activities, and the provision of insoles or orthotics.

Chiropody
Treatment of most skin and nail problems aims to result in immediate relief.

Strategies for prevention and self management can also be discussed.

Note: Many health insurers cover the cost of podiatry consultation but most do not cover the cost of orthoses. Please check with your insurer before your initial consultation. Health insurers may require a GP’s or consultant’s letter of referral in order for you to claim back the cost of the podiatry consultation and subsequent treatment.
