What is Pilates?
Pilates is a conditioning form of exercise which targets the deep postural muscles of the abdomen and spine. It helps to improve and maintain posture, restore the natural curvature of the spine and strengthen the body’s core muscles.

Pilates is widely recognised as one of the safest forms of exercise and is often recommended by GPs and physiotherapists for people of all ages and fitness levels.
Pilates at Milligan & Hill
At Milligan & Hill we offer one-to-one Pilates with certified instructors: comprehensive exercise programmes are developed specifically for each client. Our instructors have over ten years’ teaching experience and have undertaken specialist advanced Pilates training.
What can Pilates help with?
Pilates takes a holistic approach to restoring the body to balance and can help with conditions including neck and upper back pain and stiffness, work-related postural complaints, low back pain and stiffness, exercise or sport-related injuries, lack of flexibility, running injuries, pregnancy-related conditions, postnatal conditioning and muscle imbalances.
Specialised Pilates training
In addition to standard Pilates training, we specialise in Pilates for runners, postural control and efficient movement patterns and pre- and postnatal Pilates.
Health insurance
Please note that health insurance providers will not cover the cost of Pilates training.
